Yeah, zooming the canvas usually does this. Deeply annoying, relic of the 2.5d system that underlies everything in Zbrush. If you can't figure out how to zoom it back out, just copy the tool, then paste it into one of the standard zprojects like dog or female head. Delete the dog or head, then save. This will make sure that when you recenter the gizmo it won't recenter based on your current symmetry. 2 - Now in your Gizmo controls, click the padlock icon.
